South Lake Union has transformed over the past two decades from an industrial area into one of Seattle's most dynamic urban neighborhoods. Home to Amazon's global headquarters, numerous biotech and tech companies, and a growing number of restaurants, breweries, and waterfront parks, South Lake Union attracts a large daily population of workers, residents, and visitors. The neighborhood sits between downtown Seattle and Capitol Hill, with easy access to the shores of Lake Union. Lake Union Park at the south end of Lake Union is the neighborhood's primary green space and has public restroom facilities right by the water. The park restrooms are open from 6am to 10pm daily and are well-maintained. The park is a hub of activity with the Center for Wooden Boats, the MOHAI museum, the South Lake Union Streetcar terminus, and a popular summer farmers market all nearby. The REI Flagship store on Yale Ave N is one of the best restroom options in South Lake Union. The flagship store has large, clean restrooms available to customers during store hours. The store itself is worth a visit β it's one of the largest REI locations in the country and sits on a beautifully designed campus with an outdoor climbing wall. Whole Foods Market on 2nd Ave N has customer restrooms available during store hours. The store is centrally located in South Lake Union and is a popular stop for the neighborhood's large workforce. Several other restaurants and cafes throughout the neighborhood also have customer restrooms. South Lake Union is served by the South Lake Union Streetcar connecting it to downtown, as well as several Metro bus routes. The neighborhood is very walkable, with wide sidewalks and a relatively flat terrain. The Lake Union Loop trail provides a scenic walking and cycling route around the perimeter of the lake connecting South Lake Union to Eastlake, Portage Bay, and Fremont.
